Julien Sale Fires 61 To Finish Third In Portugal
Ariadne — Asher Brown Durand, ca. 1831–35
What Happened
Julien Sale shot a final-round 61 at the Open de Portugal on Sunday, finishing at -24 to place third on the HotelPlanner Tour. The card had 1 eagle, 9 birdies, 7 pars, and a single bogey.
Why It Matters
It's Sale's third straight top-ten finish and fifth of the season, and he's now 4th in the Road to Mallorca standings with four events left to lock up a DP World Tour card. A 61 doesn't guarantee anything by itself. But strung together with the results before it, it's exactly the kind of stretch promotions get built on.
What's Next
Sale has four tournaments left in the Road to Mallorca standings to secure his DP World Tour promotion.
