Kard's Contract With DSP Media Ends In December
Traveling Players — Monogrammist JG, ca. 1630
What Happened
K-pop group Kard will see their nine-year exclusive contract with DSP Media expire in December, following their first full-length album and a world tour. Members Somin, Jiwoo, J.seph, and BM say they still plan to make music together, just in a new setup. The tour stops in Singapore on Sept 27.
Why It Matters
A contract ending isn't the same as a group ending, but K-pop fans have learned not to assume the difference holds. Kard's members went out of their way to say the opposite out loud, in an interview specifically about it. That's not standard practice — it's a group trying to get ahead of a headline before it gets written for them.
What's Next
Kard plays Singapore's Sands Theatre on Sept 27, with the DSP Media contract lapsing in December.
